Business English

The Language of Service & Culture provides “Business English” language training for non-native English speakers who would like to improve their English language skills, both written and spoken, in order to increase their communication effectiveness in the workplace. As English is now the “official global language of business”, it is more important than ever to be ready and able to communicate clearly and competently with colleagues and clients, when required.

We help learners in a variety of practical ways to be more successful, such as when participating in interviews, when providing constructive feedback, when taking part in performance appraisals, when leading or attending meetings, when composing emails that sound both professional and culturally polite, when writing reports and also when creating and delivering winning presentations. The focus is on the four core skills of language learning, including listening, speaking, reading and writing. Lessons incorporate vocabulary extension relevant to the learner’s profession and industry, as well as grammar exercises and continuous opportunities to practise. Additionally, we provide insight into how one’s favoured communication style may be perceived in a new cultural environment and how to make adjustments for positive results.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Communicate more fluently and confidently in the workplace and when networking
  • Enhance ability to build rapport and trusting relationships and to participate in discussions
  • Make fewer mistakes and reduce misunderstandings which could affect efficiency and teamwork
  • Strengthen professionalism and career opportunities with advanced English language skills
  • Become more proficient in comprehension, writing and listening skills, pronunciation and business vocabulary
